Way to go!

In case you hadn't figured it out yet, I'm a scrappy little thing.
Let's place more emphasis on the scrappy and less emphasis on the little.

I like a good "fight for what's right".
I'm also a huge fan of underdogs, voiced by Wally Cox or otherwise.
When a friend of mine needed my help in the recent elections that were held in my area, my friend didn't need to ask me twice.

My friend, who is an educated and decent man and who had been through the political process once before, was the object of a vicious smear campaign by his opponent. His opponent is a rather doltish, crude and slovenly creature, totally in the dark about how things operate and what limits certain political offices have.

In other words, he's a idjit.

I'm happy to report that the dirty campaigning didn't work, and The Great Karma Wheel seems to be in full motion.

As Confucius say:
He who sling mud soon lose ground

(I'm not really sure if it was Confuse-us who said that, but doesn't it seem aged and wise when you leave out a few prepositions?)

Anyhoo...I was able to help my friend circumvent the outright lies that were being spread about him by his opponent, who shall henceforth be referred to simply as Fatass.

While my friend worked hard and campaigned and knocked on doors, and shook hands, I made telephone calls and I knocked on doors.
While my friend held voter luncheons and answered questions, I spoke to members of the media and I called in favors.
We both looked people in the eye and we told them the truth.

And, my friend was blessed to have a lot of good friends helping him with his campaign, people who truly held his best interests close to their hearts.

I knew deep down, that in this instance, at least, the good guy had to win. I think that the majority of people in my hometown are pretty smart, and not nearly as gullible as Fatass would like to think that they are.

Well, I was correct.
The good guy won.
When you only have about 30% voter turnout, you don't a huge margin of victory.
But we had enough.
It was victory nonetheless.
And it sure was sweet.
